Rendered Shots!

Hey guys! So I apologize for all of the Celestial posts lately, but as you can tell we are nearly done with the film! We are now in the exciting phase of rendering the film! As our teams compositor it is my job to take all of the elements given to me and put them together so that they look like the belong. You can read more about this here at the Celestial blog where we covered a previous render from the film.

Below are two work in progress renders from the film. The first is a shot from our film where one of characters, Titan, is exploring one of the alien worlds that Gan created. The second is Gan in the nebula environment examining a crystal.

As the film progresses I'll make sure to post more updates!

As always enjoy!

Matte Painting Time!

So with over a month left before our film is finished its time to start rendering out frames from the film and to begin the matte painting process. Check out this post about matte paintings if you want to learn more. As you know our film takes place in a nebula environment and in one shot we see the nebula from space. I was asked to do the matte painting for this shot and heres the final product!

As always I hope you enjoy!

3D Sculpting!

So for anyone who knows me, they know how much I dislike modeling in 3D. I wish I was better at it, however I feel that my skills aren't up to par. Despite this, I still wanted to be able to make something in 3D so I've decided to look into sculpting. When it comes to digital sculpting there are many programs one can use; Mudbox, ZBrush, or Sculptris to name a few. As I'm used to Maya which is from Autodesk, I decided to try their sculpting program Mudbox. This was my first time really using the program to sculpt, previously I had used it to help me texture some props. It took a while but eventually I had a sculpt I was proud of. This was originally supposed to be a realistic sculpt but ended up becoming a caricature. Once the film is over I plan on doing more digital sculpts, perhaps trying other programs, as I really enjoyed this one!

Thanks for stopping by and as always enjoy!

Lake Eola Photo Shoot

So two weekends ago  I went with two of my best friends, Dana and Cayla, to do a mini photoshoot by a lake near our school. I've discovered that over the past three years that I have a passion for photography. Dana and Cayla wanted to take some cool photos and I wanted more work for my site, so off shooting we went. Here are just a few of my favorite photos from the shoot.

As always I hope you enjoyed this post! I have some very exciting stuff coming soon!
